Going Through A Break Up During The COVID-19 Pandemic
The COVID-19 pandemic has caused isolation at its maximum, with social distancing rules, curfew hours, and only 50% capacity everywhere. It has been one of the hardest years for most of us. Mental health is at an all-time worse, and thousands lost their jobs. As I transition into my business, I started working from home full time. Meaning most days, I never left my apartment. I moved across the country with my GF at the time in June, right at the peak of all of this. It was great at first. We were out on our own for the first time. But everything was shut down. We were living in a city alone together. She got a job, and I was working hard on my company when things took a turn for the worse.
Both of our mental health went down fast. She was depressed, with massive anxiety. She couldn’t leave the house without me. And I never left the house. I was depressed and so focused on work that we both put the relationship on the back burner. Eventually, we broke. It was a rough breakup. We had been together for over three years. But with all of the stress the pandemic put on our mental illness, it just went. Now I am here. Alone.
