Have you ever walked into the local, unique coffee shop that is always busy and think how easy it could be to create something just like this. Or maybe it has always been a dream of yours to start your own coffee business. Whoever you are, you can’t help to think it isn't a bad idea to start a coffee shop. Since the beginning of the third coffee wave, the market has grown to 46 billion dollars as of 2019 and has a growth projection of over 5% a year from 2020–2025.

The market is screaming at you to start a coffee shop, right? Maybe. There are so many variables that come into play when determining if you should start a coffee shop. Location, competition, product, timing, and cost. We are going to be talking about the initial cost of starting your own coffee shop. Keep in mind these numbers are just general estimates, and can range quite a lot depending on your situation.

Equipment

Espresso Machine: You are going to want at least one espresso machine. These can range quite a bit depending on the brand and whether you get it used or new. Typical cost for a quality machine is between ($7,000 and $18,000)
