When you first sit down to write a screenplay, it can be overwhelming to stare at the blank page ahead. You don’t even know where to start and before you type the first word, you begin to doubt yourself. Finally, you give up and turn the computer off to try again tomorrow.

The 48 hour screenplay idea came to me one morning when I was sitting down trying to write something, but couldn’t figure out why it wasn’t working. The harder I thought about the movie idea, the further away the words got from me. I concluded that most writers want the screenplay to be perfect on the first try, so they get too scared to even begin writing. If you don’t have anything written how can you make it better. The cycle was endless, so after reading a few books on screenplay creative processes, I decided to take a weekend and write the entire thing as one long raw cut, then edit whenever I had the time. The first time I did this I wanted to put an expert spec script writers creative process to the test. I took what Blake Snyder wrote in his book “Save The Cat!”, and gave it a try. It’s a great book for anyone that is wanting to get into screenplay writing and I highly recommend it, you can check it out here: https://amzn.to/38uyROD
