I Tried Meditation Everyday For a Month. Here is What Happened

It was difficult at the beginning. I knew the concept of mediation, but nothing about techniques or different types. The first few days I just laid down and attempted to think about nothing. Again, harder than it sounds. I was hopeless, my phone would ring, I would wonder if that email I had been waiting all day for came in. I knew that I needed to the teacher. Someone to help me get started, show me the ways of the inner content. I live in a US desert during a pandemic, so I knew an in-person one was impossible. Luckily Netflix just released The Guide to Meditation. Let the binge begin.

This documentary was extremely informative on the subject, and I highly recommend it to anyone wanting to dive deeper into the mediation world. It covers all aspects of the foundations of mediation, but more important. It taught me different ways to meditate, tactics to focus, and the foundation of exercises used in the practice. I was armed with an arsenal and ready to fight my thoughts the next day.

It was still a little shaky, but I quickly was able to start blocking the thoughts. I was going down the list of everything I learned the previous day until they stop.
