Is The Age of Blogging Over?
Blogging has been around since the early days of the internet. Each year I hear about thousands of people starting blogs and even some that make well over $100,000 a year doing it. But blogging isn’t anything new. It’s well over a decade old. Its estimated there is over 500 Million blogs online. A wave of competition, all fighting for the chance to be at the top of Google’s SEO. With all of that competition, is it even worth starting a blog today? Is all of the money gone from the industry? Today we will dive into if blogging is dead.
Firstly I don’t think blogging is dead. I started this blog challenge in 2021, and I didn’t do it if I thought blogging was dead. I think it’s much harder to get into blogging today rather than in 2008 when it was at its prime. There has been a shift in the blogging world over the last few years. A shift that has kept it alive.
Blogging back in the day was more about personal experience in life. It was advice on how to do things and be a better person. I do some blogging, but these days, it has changed to give the best content with top advice over your competition. There are hundreds of thousands of articles on Roth IRA’s, the one with the most useful advice “should” be number one, and if you want to compete, you will have to do just that. Clickbait is nice, it gets people to look at what you are doing, but the strategy has its flaws…
