Retire Today, Not Tomorrow!

It’s time for a change. The days of working at the steel mill for 40 years to retire on a social security check at 65 are over. The age of the internet has arisen. And with the internet comes many opportunities. One of the most important is the ability to connect with people around the world. To collaborate ideas and learn and share experiences. It’s like having the wise older man up the road with all the advice. In your home on your computer, ready for any question you throw at them. Movements like FIRE(financially independent retire early) and knowledge blogs on investing have allowed people to take control of their finances, learn from people across the world with different perspectives, and retire today, not tomorrow.

Okay, when I mean today, I don’t mean today. That is unless your bank account received a million dollars on accident and nobody noticed. Speaking of, let me check mine. I mean, don’t retire at 65 or even 50 if you don’t want to. Retirement is an exciting concept. Most people view it as the ability to do whatever you want all day. To lay around the house naked, sleep in until 2:00 PM, and catch up on the endless amount of tv shows coming out. Even on Monday. But that’s not what I mean when I say that. To me, it would be awful to “retire” at 45 and spend the next 35 years being a lazy bum. Is that the point of all of this? Maybe to you, and that’s fine.
