Hi, I am Danny, and this is how I make $40,000 a month at age 14. If you have heard this in the last few months, you are not alone. The more I participate in social media, the more I see young teenage internet gurus on there telling you to quit your 9–5 and do some other dumb trending internet thing. The one I heard today set me off as he said, “I’ve been doing this for two months.” two months? I think it took Facebook ten years to IPO. SpaceX 8 years before they launched a rocket into space and many other companies just as long. Two months will never prove sustainability. Today let’s dive into the world of fake internet gurus. The younger they are, the harder they fall.

First off, it sucks that hard-working small business owners, entrepreneurs, and innovators have to even deal with these fake gurus. Well, we would deal with them more if we had time to step away from our business. These people are so insulating to me. Entrepreneurship is way over glamorized. It’s…not…fun. It’s lots of sleepless nights, weeks of no paychecks, and more stress than you can imagine. So why do we do it? Lots of reasons, but the main one is NEVER money. If we were doing this for money, we would burn out and head home to our past job within six months. We work 100s of hours for the chance to solve a problem. It’s a passion. Some days I wish that it wasn’t what I loved. I am glad I am, but I have dragged myself through more crap than ever before doing this. However I’d rather do this than anything else.
