Three Useful Ways to Increase Your Podcast Audience
Podcast! The next way to share content. A type of entertaining that has grown exceptionally — the new internet. Okay, maybe not the new internet, but we can all agree on one thing. Podcasts are growing faster than they ever have. If you are like me and hopping on this ingenious bandwagon, then you might want to know how to grow your audience. After all, who wants to make a podcast that is never heard. If a tree falls in the middle of a forest and nobody is around to hear, does it make a sound- okay, I know that saying means something completely different, but let’s dive into some of the best ways to grow your audience.
Don’t buy my things…yet.
Yes, early monetization should be avoided. I talked about this in my other post, but I will say it again because it’s true. Your goal when starting a podcast shouldn’t ever be for the money. Provide value to your early listeners. Nobody likes a sell-out. And starting your first episode or season trying to get people to buy things comes off slimy. Don’t worry about the revenue at all in the beginning. Engage and work with your fans, then after building up the group, you can start to take on sponsorships. It’s never worth making $3 bucks off your first five fans in the beginning.
