What to Consider Before Moving (Across the Country)

I have moved to a different state across the entire country every year for the last five years. Here is what I have to say about what to consider.

Moving isn’t a black and white decision on timing. Moving takes planning, research, and a reason to make it. Let’s dive into what are the main factors to consider when moving to a new place.

The first is why you are moving. Is there a reason that can’t be resolved or tolerated in your city? Maybe you have a sick parent, want cheaper or rent, or better schools for you and your children, or you just need a scene change. Whatever the reason is, if you can’t resolve it where you are, you know you must move. I only say, as someone that has moved across the country five times, it’s incredible but takes a lot of work… A LOT. Now let’s jump into what factors I consider when picking a place to move to.

Nature/Scenery/Climate

Are there mountains? The ocean? or just farm fields? It might not seem like something you will want to consider, but I ask you to relook this aspect of a move. When I moved to Reno, Nevada, I never thought I would miss seeing the lush grass and greenery from Kansas City. However, You can’t get the same views anywhere else in the world as you can at Lake Tahoe. I love the fantastic mountain views I see every day I go out. It…
